Annual Naples Turkey Trot

Annual Naples Turkey Trot Event Information

Each year on Thanksgiving morning, folks meet at the Community Park to kick off this fun event. Participants can walk, jog, or run either the 3k or 5k course.

The trot is day of registration only, suggested donations of $5 per individual or $20 per family.

Local businesses donate prizes for the top three male and female runners as well raffle items. There is also the option for businesses to donate $75 or more to the event and have their logo put on the trot’s annual t-shirt designed by Chris Abraham of Abraham Screen Print.

Each year this event attracts close to 75-100+ participants.

Supporting the Naples Community

The Turkey Trot collects non-perishable goods for the Naples Open Cupboard as well as monetary donations for the organization. In addition to the Open Cupboard, over the years, the event has raised funds for the Naples Community Park, Naples Troop #40 Eagle Scout projects, the Hospeace House, and the Friends of the Naples Library.

Event History

In 2009, community member, Nathan Sirvent, started the annual Naples Turkey Trot as a way to get out for some fresh air, exercise, and a way to help local community organizations on Thanksgiving morning.

In 2014, Nathan Sirvent handed over the reins of organizing the event to other Neapolitans, including Becca Jensen, Liz Dormer, Julie Sherwood, Linda Strauss-Jones, and Colleen Betrus.
